All-Star Commitment Form 2025

Your child may be nominated this season for All-Stars. This form is intended to outline the selection process and the commitments required of All-Star players, coaches and families.

Evaluations

Season Play: All-Stars evaluations involve two categories, the first being the player’s performance throughout the season. Coaches in your division will discuss each nominee’s season play at the selection meeting near the end of the season. Grading categories will include, but not limited to: Situational Awareness, Hitting, Fielding, Throwing, Baserunning, Pitching, Hustle, Attitude and Coachability. The Head Coach of your team will discuss the players performance in those categories with the other coaches.

Showcase: The second grading category is a showcase event. This showcase will involve baseball drills relative to the division of play you’re nominated for. Coaches from the division will grade each player and those grades will be present at the time of the selection meeting.

Attitude: A player’s or family’s attitude towards their coaches and umpires will impact their all-star selection ability. Our team’s are a representation of our park, and must epitomize our high standards of conduct.

Selections

Coaches from each division will gather and speak about each kid nominated from their team. Coaches will use a combination of the players Season Play, Showcase grades and Coaches Comments to rank all players. If there are 45 nominees for that division, they will each rank all players 1 through 45. Those scores will be averaged to determine the players overall score. Depending on the roster size desired by the coach, usually 12 players, there will be one spot left open for a Coaches Pick. If the coach’s child didn’t rank in the top players, their child will be the Coaches Pick, otherwise they can select any player that didn’t make that team(or lower). Though Advanced Baseball has similarities to All-Stars, being chosen to be on the Advanced Baseball team has no consequence on All-Stars and which team, if any, you’re chosen for.

Playing Down

Players who advanced to the next division up during the regular season, but are still eligible for the lower division, are allowed to play down for All-Stars. The player may elect to try for the All-Star team in the higher division, the lower division, or both. If the player makes both All-Star teams, they’ll have 24 hours to decide which team they will play with, and that decision will be final regardless of other players and/or coaches. Players who are wanting to be considered for two divisions must attend both showcases.

Time

Practice: All-Stars of all levels involve a lot of time. We allow our coaches during All-Stars to hold mandatory practices up to three nights per week. The cost for missing practices will vary from coach to coach, but we allow them to bench players who have not been to practices.

Tournaments: Missing a tournament is not permitted. If your child is going to miss an entire tournament, they will not be considered for all-stars unless the board and All-Star coach are presented with the entire scenario and agree to make an exception.

Eagle Lake Invitational: While this event is hosted by our Rookie and T-Ball teams, all teams will help with getting the fields ready during a field work day prior to the tournament, lining and raking fields during the tournament and working in the concession stand when they’re not playing. This is a significantly profitable event for our league, help is required. If your all-star team does not meet the minimum participation requirement for the work day, field prep or concessions, the board may elect not to fund tournament entry fees for your team.

  • B and C teams usually only play in the three local tournaments.
